Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Program Manager for our NASA Space Launch System (SLS) Motor Static Test Team to oversee development and production of the SLS static test(s) programs in our Propulsion Systems Division at Promontory, Utah .
Role Description & Responsibilities:
The Program Manager 1 will be responsible for management of the FSB-1 and Booster Obsolescence and Life Extension (BOLE) static tests. The Program Manager manages the program(s) to deliver the expected financial, technology, and schedule performance. The Program Manager will work closely with our NASA customer, program leadership, engineering, operations and quality.
Execute programs successfully by managing safety, quality, schedule, technology and cost (P&L responsibility)
Continuously drive for results and challenge the status quo
Have the capacity to understand people issues impacting the business
Have demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others preferably in a non-supervisory role
Represent NGIS as a company (bringing message to the customer; and integrating knowledge of the spectrum of NGC capabilities with understanding of customer needs to promote NGC)
Service the customer (executing the program and resolving issues in accordance with business objectives, strategy, legal requirements, regulations, contract terms, and company policies)
Balance the interests of the customer, NGC, and employees
Ensure that the programs/projects are on schedule to the program milestones.
Oversee budget management within the program and participate in monthly business management reviews.
Plan future phases of the program and prepare customer for follow on phases
Execute Earned Value Management System (EVMS) to control, evaluate and achieve program objectives.
Drive technical excellence (by setting program standards, working closely with technical team, balancing risk, and delivering performance)
Support proposal preparation (to ensure it meets NGC business strategy, is compliant, responds to customer needs, and provides a proper base for successful negotiations and program performance)
Previous relevant experience working in rocket motor production and development environments
Familiar with the NASA requirements and contracts and business processes
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience
Demonstrated ability to lead production and development teams and lead program improvements with customer concurrence
BS degree; Engineering discipline preferred
5 years of Program Management Experience or demonstrated experience leading diverse teams
Preferred Qualifications :
Demonstrated Program Execution
General knowledge of financial systems
Experience leading technical teams
Experience developing configuration management practices for cost efficiency
Experience developing and implementing a statistical process control program approach
Experience supporting or preparing proposals and delegations
