Global Lead Partnerships & Merchants Solutions


Lead a team of Partnerships Relationship Managers and Merchant Integration Managers. The role entails organization leadership to facilitate successful partnerships, advancing Global Marketplace Priorities and GMV success. You will also leading members of the team to grow their individual professional development. You are responsible for developing and improving partner engagement, identifying growth and sales opportunities, consulting with the team members to meet business objectives and to serve as the strategic lead for internal eBay teams who need to utilize ours Partners’ seller reach.


  • Lead and provide strategic direction to a global; diverse team and ensure alignment with overarching eBay Strategy

  • Lead on large commercial partner contract negotiations

  • Coach and deliver value to Relationship Managers as they support partner’s sales and account management teams on ways to optimize their business on eBay

  • Hire team members when necessary.

  • Use analytics to provide direction to the team, external partners and internal constituents

  • Assume responsibility for all aspects of the Partner Relationship and Merchant Integrations Solutions teams, including Partner performance, seller loyalty/churn, large seller and partner technical onboarding, growth and buyer experience

  • Support for Relationship Managers and Partner’s quarterly business reviews that provide insights, growth opportunities, and strategy recommendations that will enable partners to meet annual growth objectives.

  • Lead the team to identify and execute against growth and new seller acquisition goals and meet key internal objectives for growing eBay Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV)

  • Drive Partner coverage across all eBay seller segments

  • Partner & Influence Product/DECO Leadership teams to align product/API adoption that enables the best seller experience for our shared customers

  • Coordinate with individuals across various internal functions regarding needs and requirements of each partner's seller cohort, including eBay executives, Marketing, Product Development, MSO, Legal, Business Development, Sales, Integrations, Analytics, Advertising, and Vertical team leads

  • Provide the voice of the Partner sentiment and priorities back into Leadership

  • Set and achieve Team and Portfolio targets: GMV, Revenue, Seller NPS and eBay Seller Segment coverage

  • Own operational compliance: Product Roadmap, CRM, account plans & financial risk

  • Speaking at key Partner events globally

  • External spokesperson and public face of eBay for key Partner Events globally


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 15+ years professional experience overall

  • 5-10 years Leadership experience in Account Management, relationship management or business development with extraordinary performance record AND experience handling technology partnerships

  • Proven experience leading highly skilled professional and enabling their ongoing success

  • Strong Commercial & negotiation skills

  • General/working understanding of API functionality

  • Expertise in ecommerce industry and channels, specialized industry domain experience (electronics, fashion, motors, or emerging verticals)

  • Comprehensive and detailed expertise in eBay site, policies, product, tools and 3rd party tools

  • Exceptional skills in building rapport and credibility with partners, ability to influence and “sell” recommendations

  • Solid understanding of the eBay user experience and the impact of changes and/or new features on B2C sellers.

  • Experience developing contract structure

  • Budget ownership experience

  • Highly driven to develop and grow partner portfolio, including sales and/or marketing expertise

  • Consistent track record of accomplishment of rapidly growing relationships and driving account growth resulting in financial gain / goal attainment

  • Positive relationships with internal partners, and individuals at all levels within the organization (from senior executives to entry-level employees)

  • Strong skill and experience in using influence and negotiation abilities to improve strategic relationships and drive business growth

  • Extraordinary professional writing skills, ability to develop well organized, easy to follow documentation appropriate for a specific audience (customer facing, internal, etc.)

  • Strong communication and presentation skills that allow for effective business reviews with partners and senior executives

  • Highly organized, detail oriented and possesses the ability to successfully lead multiple simultaneous projects and tasks

  • Ability to quickly adapt to a constantly changing environment

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and analytics tools

  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time depending on the time of year
