Oracle Sales Incentive Planning Manager, Global Incentive Compensation in Lehi, Utah

Design, deliver, and support global sales model with focus on productivity improvement of planning process and application.

Partner with lines of business in the design of compensation models in the support of strategic business initiatives. Update Terms and Conditions of compensation plans. Ensure global salesforce planning system is setup for online distribution of plans. Approve sales incentive programs; ie: SPIFFs. Provide reports to finance on effectiveness of sales model and SPIFFs. Roll-out sales force plans globally to enable Oracle salesforce to accept compensation plans online. Create sales matrix which communicates payment structure to sales organization. Create on-target earnings matrix. Train Sales and Finance on global sales model and compensation models. Field questions from organization on models. Train Finance on Salesforce planning.

Acknowledged authority within the Corporation. Acts as a leader of large-scale company initiatives. Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner. Strong analysis skills. Ability to partner across functions and with all levels of management. 10 plus years relevant work experience. BS/BA degree.

Group overview

The Global Incentive Compensation (GIC) team supports all business groups who have employees eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. We work closely with executive management to design sales incentive plans that drive behavior to meet the organization's objectives while maintaining our fiduciary responsibility to the company.

The planning team has responsibility for compensation plan design, implementation, policies, terms and conditions, variable compensation, and ruling on compensation exceptions. Variable compensation includes establishing guidelines for mix/static variable amounts for all sales incentive plan eligible jobs as well as monitoring all variable compensation related transactions to ensure adherence to guidelines.

Key responsibilities

The Divisional Planning Manager (DPM) is responsible for partnering at a line of business (LOB) level and understanding the business needs, challenges, goals and designing compensation solutions that drive the expected results. The DPM works very closely with Sales, Finance, Sales Ops, GIC Ops and GCA (Global Compensation Administration) to ensure the recommended solutions align to the business expectations, make financial sense and they are able to be implemented and administrated.

The DPM is also responsible for determining the best course of action for exceptions to Global Incentive Compensation (GIC) policy, ensuring the business follows policy and any required deviation is properly approved and documented.

  • Develop strategic relationships with the LOB leaders.

  • Evaluates current year incentive compensation plan results to determine plan effectiveness

  • Understand corporate strategy and sales model and can articulate to the business.

  • Understands business strategy and sales model and can articulate to corporate.

  • Leads in the design and implementation of new incentive compensation plans and programs.

  • Communicates and explains incentive compensation plans to sales, management, sales operations and finance as required

  • Provides guidance for incentive structure throughout the year, participates in meetings

Personal and interpersonal proficiencies

  • BA/BS required, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration (MBA Desired)

  • 10 years of professional work experience in sales compensation, sales operations, business finance or related field.

  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and make quick decisions

  • High attention to detail

  • Able to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Ability to establish strategic relationships with executive business partners (Executive Credibility)

  • Quickly absorbs and adapts to change
