Director of Merchandising Operations

Purpose:

Lead the operational and strategic initiatives Merchandising. Lead cross functional leadership alignment to develop & refine ways of working and business processes. Lead the development and training of process, procedures, and tools to achieve critical GTM activities, establish pricing strategies, manage proto usage, and act as the hub of data entry for each channel. Lead special projects as determined by Merch lead.

Key Metrics:

Sku management and pricing commonality, margin and AUR improvement by category

Responsibilities:

  • Establish critical business processes and execute across all channels/region

  • Lead issue resolution and establish key opportunities to ensure operational excellence within the organization

  • Act as project lead a variety of special projects as required by the Merchandising and channel leads.

  • Create standardized tools that enable the merch team to execute with clarity and consistency including streamlined performance reporting, pricing oversight, GTM tools, and market presentations

  • Lead team to translate GTM calendar into detailed procedures that will achieve on time completion of critical deadlines

  • Orchestrate & aggregate seasonal product briefs across regional teams

  • Lead and facilitate cross functional discussions, inclusive of ways of working and decision rights, to align on process, timing and ways of working of the GTM

Key Relationships:

This role requires a high degree of cross functional interaction and an exceptional level of collaboration, problem solving and communication skills required.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree required

  • Proven working knowledge of Merchandising function

  • 8+ years’ experience within the consumer goods industry

  • Specific working knowledge of development calendars

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing effective business processes and managing complex, cross functional projects

  • Ability to effectively interact with Sr. level roles

  • Ability to effectively problem solve

  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Effective meeting facilitation skills

  • Proficient with software applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Power Point
