The Multi-Cloud GTM Manager sits in corporate marketing as part of the newly formed Multi-Cloud Franchise Marketing Team. This team is responsible for developing the marketing GTM (Go-to-Market) strategies to drive awareness and demand across the VMware Cloud portfolio, while working alongside the solutions marketing, product marketing, sales and partner organizations. This person will play a key role as a GTM interface to the Corporate Marketing and Demand and Field marketing organizations, as well as have end-to-end ownership of specific initiatives within the overall GTM strategy.
The Multi-Cloud GTM role requires us to work cross-functionally and wear a ton of hats. We build strategies which span the entire customer lifecycle including land and expand, product adoption, sales acceleration, and consumption. Understanding our business and sales goals, translating and optimizing those into market and route-specific strategies is the cornerstone of our role. We prioritize the global marketing investment strategy, determine and align solution targets, drive segmentation, and establish and track quarterly KPIs. GTM is a strategic advisor, however we are not responsible for direct execution. We partner with our corporate Centers of Excellence and our Field and Demand organization, who design and execute programs, to deliver on our multi-cloud objectives.
We are also responsible for representing global Multi-Cloud marketing to the rest of the organization, including executive leadership. To succeed on this team, you must be able to work cross functionally at all levels within the organization and contribute to a cohesive strategy supporting a distributed set of global team members to achieve the determined outcome. Additionally, this role must demonstrate confidence while dealing with conflicting priorities and urgent timelines, drive cross team collaboration, trust and influence, and be able to analyze and articulate marketing’s impact to the business.
5+ years in enterprise software in corporate GTM strategy, integrated marketing or a portfolio marketing role. Account strategy positions at agencies or consulting firms will also be considered.
Demand generation program experience
An understanding of persona-based marketing, audience/buyer’s journeys, and segmentation strategies
Regular reporting on and analysis of the health of the marketing funnel (top-of-funnel response metrics through closed deal), marketing-influenced business KPIs and tracking reverse funnel to hit pipeline targets
A self-starter who sets and keeps the pace for a global, extended team
Strong project & organization management skills with the ability to optimally structure and prioritize work
Cross-functional team collaboration and influence
Lead presentation development to align marketing stakeholders and assist management with presentation development for executive stakeholders
Detail-oriented and can always see the big picture. You have no trouble turning a multi-dimensional program tracker into an executive or top-line summary.
