Oracle Product Mgmt/Strategy Snr Director-ProdDev in Sandy, Utah

Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a Senior Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers. Interacts internally and externally with executive management, providing negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience preferred.

Oracleis hiring action-oriented solution architects to join the CX Center ofExcellence and work with our most strategic customers, and we seek a managerfor this team. Team members possess a diverse background from technologyvendors, customers and Management Consulting firms with knowledge of technical,functional and information architectures, leveraging this credibility astrusted advisors with customers, partners and internally across Oracle.

Theideal candidate will be a player-coach, able to work directly with customers todeliver solution design reviews and ongoing architectural reviews, clearlyoutlining risks and potential problems to help Oracle customers deploy multipleCX applications, as well as supervise and manage a team of specialists acrossthe USA.


Thisrole is in Oracle s CX Product Development group, reporting to the VP Cross-CXCenter of Excellence (COE). As an acknowledged authority within Oracle, thissenior-level product role requires considerable breadth of knowledge andunderstanding of CX solutions, industry best practices and CX-related businessprocesses or technology designs. In addition, management experience isrequired, especially in managing collaborative teams of creative, independentthinkers.

Therole involves analysis of the client technical, application and integrationlandscape to ensure Oracle CX deployments meet customer objectives. Successfulcandidates will develop and review solution architectures for our largest, mostcomplex deployments. This requires intellectual discipline, a problem-solvingaptitude, deep technology experience, interpersonal skills, creativity andindependent judgment. This position frequently operates at the leading edge ofproduct delivery, often in conditions of ambiguity, anticipating project risksand proposing mitigation strategies for Oracle s most complex CX projects.Management responsibilities include recruitment, resource allocation,prioritization and setting clear direction for future skills, programs andresourcing.


  • 10-15 yearsof experience in complex solution architecture roles

  • Workexperience with Customers, Solution Engineers, Oracle Consulting, Support andCustomer Success, to drive CX adoption, renewal and expansion

  • Hands-onexperience with Oracle CX products (Sales, Marketing, Service, Commerce) as a developer,customer, consultant or partner

  • Teamleadership and/or management experience of managing teams of 5-10 creative,highly-skilled and in-demand resources.

  • Capabilityto engage with Oracle s most strategic customers, driving the biggest changes,representing the CX product development group to achieve the followingoutcomes:

o Aligncustomer business priorities and technology strategy to present a clear,successful solution architecture;

o Developa trusted relationship with key stakeholders;

o Reconcilemultiple viewpoints to establish a clear and deliverable map to successfuldeployments

  • Abilityto take a leadership stance within the team and outside, and establish thoughtleadership in the growth of the CX product group.

  • Abilityto publish and/or contribute to the creation and sharing of best practices,white papers, training, webinars and workshops. 15% of employee time will beallocated to these tasks

  • Abilityto deliver compelling presentations and reports to business and IT executives,and conduct persuasive conversations focused on multiple alternatives and clearrecommendations

  • Experiencewith enterprise architectures, integration models and technologies

  • Abilityto travel as needed

  • A/BSdegree or equivalent. Advanced degree(s) highly desirable


  • Strong,independent thinker with the ability to build credible relationships withinOracle and customer environments

  • Experiencewith complex implementations of CX cloud services

  • Strongteam leadership experience, particularly in a complex customer service context.

  • Abilityto think clearly under pressure and prioritize key objectives.

  • Matrixleadership experience: inspire and collaborate with a blended team of Oracle,customers and partners to address customer challenges

  • Advancedability to manage customer escalations (internally and externally) andnegotiate resolution

  • Genuinepassion, interest, willingness and ability to adjust to continuously changingpriorities and needs

  • Executive-levelcommunication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectivelynavigate and mediate conflict and foster honest dialog

  • Proveneffectiveness at leading and facilitating meetings and workshops

  • Experienceand comfort working in an environment of ambiguity:

  • Ableto navigate ambiguous business situations and identify a path forward

  • Ableto develop new approaches to accomplish work while clarifying and creatingtransparency across multiple constituencies
